An official delegation from China's Ministry of National Defense visited the headquarters of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as well as Switzerland this week, and held multiple rounds of talks with their European counterparts on security and defense.

The 15th China-EU security and defense consultations took place in Brussels on Tuesday, during which both sides discussed a range of global security challenges.

According to the European External Action Service, the two sides exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis, regional developments in the Asia-Pacific, and the situation in Iran and the broader Middle East region.

The consultations were co-chaired by senior officials from both sides, including Major General Guo Hongtao, deputy head of Office for International Military Cooperation, and Benedikta von Seherr-Thoss, managing director for Peace Security and Defense at the European External Action Service.

The Chinese delegation also held the 9th dialogue on security policy with NATO military staff in the Belgian capital. Meanwhile, at the 15th China-Switzerland defense policy coordination dialogue, both sides exchanged views on international and regional security issues of mutual concern.
