On March 28, two cruise ships – the Spectrum of the Seas and Mein Schiff 6 registered nearly 5,900 passenger visits – marking a new record at Shanghai's Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal for the highest number of inbound foreign passengers in a single day.

Two more ships, the MSC Magnifica and Adora Magic City, arrived the next day, joining Mein Schiff 6 to become the first "three ships docked simultaneously" in the terminal this year.

Shanghai port handled more than 20,000 passenger entries and exits over the two-day period, more than half of which were made by international travelers. Thanks to China's visa-free policies, 91% of the overseas arrivals entered without a visa.
