The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is well positioned to withstand external shocks and maintain steady growth, backed by the Chinese mainland as a stable anchor, Paul Chan, financial secretary of the HKSAR government noted in his Sunday blog.
Hong Kong has recorded over 13.7 million visitor arrivals so far this year through March 27, marking a year-on-year increase of around 17%. The value of Hong Kong's merchandise exports surged by 29.6% in the first two months of 2026 compared with a year earlier.
The Hong Kong economy demonstrated strong resilience in 2025, with real GDP growing by 3.5%, marking the third consecutive year of expansion.
