Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has issued a stark warning to the US, saying American troops would face "humiliating captivity" if Washington launches a ground attack on Iranian territory.
IRGC spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaqari accused President Donald Trump of making repeated threats of ground operations and occupation in the Persian Gulf, calling them "nothing more than a wish" and saying Iran is ready to respond.
The comments come as regional powers meet in Pakistan to discuss ways to halt the month-long US-Israeli attack on Iran, which has killed thousands and disrupted global energy supplies.
