The US and Israeli military strikes against Iran have entered their 32nd day, with tensions continuing to escalate across the region. Iran confirmed on Monday the death of Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, who succumbed to injuries sustained in recent strikes, according to Iranian media, citing an official IRGC statement.
According to Israeli public broadcaster reports, a refinery operated by Israel's Bazan Group in the city of Haifa caught fire after being hit by missiles launched from the direction of Lebanon and Iran. The International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran's heavy-water plant has been severely damaged and has ceased operations. Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei described proposals submitted by the US through intermediaries as "unrealistic, illogical and excessive."
