Spring migration is in full swing at the Ruoergai Wetland National Nature Reserve in southwest China's Sichuan Province. As large flocks of migratory birds return, the reserve has launched its seasonal survey of cranes and other waterbirds. Nearly 1,900 birds were recorded in the Huahu Lake area in March, including iconic species such as the black-necked crane and the whooper swan.
