The ecological environment within the Yellow River basin has seen continuous improvement in Inner Mongolia, following years of integrated protection and the systematic governance of natural resources – mountains, rivers, forests, grasslands, and deserts. For example, the cultivation of sand willows and other plants in grids has helped to significantly reduce the amount of sediment flown to the Yellow River, resulting in better water quality and richer biodiversity.
