In a challenging encounter on Tuesday, China suffered a 2-0 defeat to Cameroon in a FIFA Series match, conceding both goals within the first ten minutes.

Facing a physically robust Cameroonian team ranked within the world's top 50, China opted for a heavily rotated lineup that featured six under-23 players among the starters.

Cameroon quickly seized the initiative, with Karl Etta Eyong striking in the third minute, followed shortly by Saidou Alioum doubling the lead in the ninth minute, leaving China in an early hole.

Despite the rocky start, the Chinese side showed marked improvement after the interval, generating several scoring opportunities. Substituting Lin Liangming nearly found the net early in the second half, while goalkeeper Yan Junling made a crucial save to keep his team in the contest. Wei Shihao came close with a curling free kick, and defender Zhu Chenjie squandered a late chance to equalize, but ultimately, China couldn't find a breakthrough.

Post-match, coach Shao Jiayi offered a nuanced perspective on the performance. "Despite conceding two goals in the first half, the team did quite well overall," he assessed. "In the first ten minutes, they weren't quite focused, but the next 80 minutes were perfect. I'm very happy with their performance."
