A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck the Molucca Sea, Indonesia on Thursday at a depth of 30 kilometers, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency measured the quake at magnitude 7.6 and issued a tsunami warning.
The US Tsunami Warning System said hazardous tsunami waves were possible within 1,000 kilometers of the epicenter along coasts of Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia.
