A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck the Molucca Sea, Indonesia on Thursday at a depth of 30 kilometers, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency measured the quake at magnitude 7.6 and issued a tsunami warning.

The US Tsunami ​Warning System said hazardous tsunami waves were possible within 1,000 kilometers of the epicenter ⁠along coasts of Indonesia, ⁠Philippines ⁠and Malaysia.
