"I was blown away the moment I walked in," US vlogger Yemi said after indulging in a 24-hour spa in Beijing. For just $50, the Chinese retreats offer soaking, steaming and scrubbing treatments alongside all-you-can eat dining, including premier seafood like caviar.

They are laid out over many floors, housing gaming lounges, karaoke stages, billiard rooms and even quiet reading areas and sleeping pods.

This combination of entertainment and leisure stems from a uniquely Chinese concept of promoting well-being through social bonding – a concept that has gone viral under the "China Travel" hashtag.
