In an interview with CGTN, Food and Agriculture Organization Chief Economist Maximo Torero says soaring natural gas and oil prices have driven fertilizer costs up by as much as 50%, and that the real impact will hit the next planting season. He says it could trigger dramatic inflation in food costs in the second half of this year and beyond.
