Flying kites is a time-honored tradition around the Qingming Festival in China. In Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, vast grasslands and favorable winds create ideal conditions for kite flying in spring.

This year's Hohhot kite art season runs from March 20 to April 6. In collaboration with the kite association of Weifang, a city in Shandong Province renowned for its long-standing kite-making traditions, the event showcases giant kites in diverse forms, sport kite performances, and a range of activities highlighting intangible cultural heritage and Hohhot's local culture and tourism.

Events take place at multiple venues across the city, including public squares, parks, and commercial areas, allowing residents and visitors to experience the spirit of the season easily.
