Pure Brightness, the fifth of the 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar, literally translates to "pure and clear," symbolizing the freshness of spring and the vibrancy of nature. During this time, the sun shines brightly, plants sprout and flowers bloom. Also knowns as Tomb-sweeping Day, it carries an additional significance, as Chinese people honor their deceased family members and pay tribute to their ancestors. Participating in outdoor activities is also a tradition.
