The two daughters of Qassem Soleimani, the late commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, both denied claims that any of his relatives were arrested in the United States, Iranian media said on Saturday.
One of Soleimani's daughters, Zeinab Soleimani, said the US State Department's statement was false and that the individuals detained in the US have no connection to the family.
The US State Department announced on Saturday that Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, described as Soleimani's niece-level relative, and her daughter were arrested by US federal agents.
