Cheng Li-wun, chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang party, will visit the Chinese mainland from April 7 to 12 at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. The visit is drawing wide attention. Chi Chia-lin, a historian based in Taiwan, shares his perspective on the visit with CGTN reporter Zheng Yibing. He said that the trip will give a very significant inspiration to Taiwan society, proving that people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family, and as long as they sit down and have face-to-face communication and dialogue, no problem cannot be solved.
