Cheng Li-wun, chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang party in Taiwan, is set to visit the Chinese mainland from Tuesday to Sunday. Days before her departure, Taiwan's mainland affairs council stated that if Cheng engages in any behavior "overstepping the boundary," she could face a maximum sentence of five years in prison. Chi Chia-lin, a scholar and historian based in Taiwan, says the local authorities are overly concerned.
