China has completed a 180,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier in Nantong, east China's Jiangsu Province. Built by China Merchants Industry (CMI) Haimen Base, the 298.8-meter vessel features a dual-fuel propulsion system for low evaporation and strong environmental performance. The dual-fuel engines also use evaporated natural gas, reducing waste. LNG carriers, designed for transporting LNG at minus 163 degrees Celsius, are complex and rare, with few shipyards worldwide capable of building them.
