Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand in Beijing on Wednesday.
Recognizing Princess Sirindhorn as a good and old friend of the Chinese people and a doer in promoting China-Thailand friendship, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that Sirindhorn has witnessed the development of China's reform and opening up and Chinese modernization in her 57 visits across China.
This year marks the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Wang said. China stands ready to work with Thailand, guided by the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, to carry forward the traditional China-Thailand friendship, strengthen cooperation in high technology, education, people's livelihood and other areas, continue to sow the seeds of friendship, and strive for fruitful results in building a China-Thailand community with a shared future for the benefit of the two peoples, Wang added.
Sirindhorn said that China is a good friend of Thailand, adding that Thailand appreciates China's strong support in talent cultivation, human resources development and other fields.
She hoped to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields with China; strengthen practical cooperation in science and technology, agriculture, medical care, culture, education and other areas; promote mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples; and enable the cause of Thailand-China friendship to thrive.
