Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will pay an official visit to China from April 11 to 15 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's upcoming visit to China is expected to further deepen strategic mutual trust, enhance exchanges and cooperation, strengthen multilateral coordination, and inject more positive energy into world peace and stability.

Mao made the remarks at a regular press briefing when responding to a query about arrangements for Sanchez's visit and China's expectations.

She said the visit will be Sanchez's fourth trip to China in four years. China stands ready to work with Spain to take the visit as an opportunity to further advance bilateral relations, she added.
