U.S. Central Command： Sailors aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) weld an arresting wire under the aircraft carrier’s flight deck. Arresting wires bring a fast-moving aircraft to a stop in seconds using these cables and arresting engines below deck. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently operating in the Arabian Sea.
