CGTN On-site: Deadly floods claim 148 lives in Afghanistan

A total of 148 people have died in the extreme weather in Afghanistan since March 25, the National Disaster Management Authority said on Wednesday, with 15 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours and hundreds more injured or missing.

Heavy rains and flash floods are devastating communities across the country, leaving a growing trail of destruction, loss and displacement. The financial toll is mounting, with thousands of houses destroyed or damaged and agricultural land washed away, deepening the crisis for already vulnerable communities.

CGTN correspondent Zmaryalai Abasin visited Logar Province and has more from the ground.
