To mark the 20th anniversary of Earth Hour, CGTN, together with the World Wide Fund for Nature, recently launched the "Green Light for Future" global open call. Bringing together more than 17 light painting artists and participants worldwide, the initiative has collected over 20 artworks expressing love and hope for our planet.
From China to the US, from the Middle East to Europe, artists responded with powerful visual stories – using light as a shared language to reflect the beauty of nature and the urgency of protecting it:
The Pamir Eagle, Roy Wang (China)
Beautiful Things, Monika Sandel (Germany)
Tree of Light, Jason D. Page (United States)
Calm, Alya Al Sanad (UAE)
Breath of the Earth, Veerendra Jillella (India)
Atlas Lion, Yasmina Cherkaoui (Morocco)
Palmera de Manzanillo" – Miguel (Mexico)
Serenity, Hannu Huhtamo (Finland)
Mother Nature, Vikthor Clarke (Spain)
Colibri, Iris Cebrian (Shyroii) (Spain)
The Firefly Breeder, Ivan Lucio (Spain)
Through iconic animals, natural landscapes, and abstract forms, these works aloud an universal message: our planet is fragile, and its future depends on us.
As Earth Hour reminds us each year, protecting the environment begins with simple actions – but it requires lasting commitment. Turn off the lights and act for the Earth together with us!
