Iran and the United States have agreed to a two-week ceasefire. The agreement came shortly before US President Donald Trump's deadline for Tehran to agree to a deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country will cease "defensive operations" if attacks against it stop and promised safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz during the two weeks under "coordination" with Iranian armed forces.
