Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday paid tribute at the graves of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) located in Kangdong County in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is currently visiting the DPRK.

Wang expressed appreciation to the DPRK for its efforts in protecting and restoring memorial facilities for the fallen soldiers of the CPV.

He said these sites should serve as a base for carrying forward the traditional China-DPRK friendship forged in blood, educating future generations of both countries to inherit and promote the volunteers' spirit of dedication, and providing strong spiritual impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
