Pakistan has implemented rigorous security protocols and logistical preparations as official delegations from the United States and Iran prepare to arrive in Islamabad. These high-level discussions aim to stabilize the Middle East following the announcement of a fragile two-week ceasefire. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on Thursday that a comprehensive, "foolproof" security strategy is in place to protect all international envoys during their stay in the capital.

The upcoming negotiations will feature senior leadership from both nations, representing the most significant diplomatic effort to resolve the conflict after nearly six weeks of intense military escalation. The primary objective is to transition the current temporary truce into a sustainable, long-term settlement. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged all parties to maintain restraint during this window to allow diplomacy to take precedence over further hostilities.

According to Iranian state media, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf will head the Tehran delegation, while the White House has confirmed that US Vice President JD Vance will lead the American team. Vance will be accompanied by senior envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with the opening round of face-to-face talks scheduled to begin this Saturday. While the two sides remain divided on key issues like the Strait of Hormuz and regional proxy involvement, the Islamabad summit is seen as a critical turning point for regional stability.
