Min Aung Hlaing sworn in as Myanmar's president

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was officially sworn in as the President of Myanmar on Friday.

The oath-taking ceremony, conducted before the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (Union Parliament), took place on the sixth day session of the first regular session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw.

During the session, U Nyo Saw and Nan Ni Ni Aye were also sworn in as the country's vice presidents.

Union-level officials, including the Union Chief Justice, judges of the Union Supreme Court, Union Ministers, the Union Attorney General, the Chairperson of the Union Election Commission, the Governor and Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, and the chairman and members of the Anti-Corruption Commission, also took the oath before the Speaker.

Min Aung Hlaing, former commander-in-chief of the Defence Services, was elected as Myanmar's president by the Presidential Electoral College on April 3.
