Humanoid robot AgiBot Lingxi X2 – which was developed in China – made an appearance at the 55th anniversary event of China-US "Ping-Pong Diplomacy." The event commemorated the historic trip of a US table tennis team delegation to China in April 1971, which helped lay the groundwork for the establishment of official diplomatic relations between China and the United States.

In the interactive zone at the event, the robot faced off with Chinese table tennis legend Deng Yaping, American guests, and witnesses to past diplomatic exchanges. Standing at about 1.3 meters (4.27 feet) tall, Lingxi X2 requires no remote control, accurately tracks high-speed balls, and executes continuous returns and extended rallies – closely mirroring human competitive play and showcasing a fusion of sport, technology and international friendship.
