Sebastian Duterte, the mayor of Davao City, Philippines, officially assumed the position of president of the Philippine major party PDP-Laban on Saturday, according to local media reports.

Sebastian Duterte received his formal appointment during the PDP-Laban National Committee meeting on April 11 and took his oath of office. He had been serving as acting president of the party since June 2025, local media said.

PDP-Laban is one of the major political parties in the Philippines. Under its administrative structure, the party national chairman is the highest leadership position, while the party president is the executive leader and is responsible for the party's daily operations. Sebastian Duterte is also the youngest son of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
