Rare direct talks between US and Iranian officials in Islamabad ended without an agreement after about 21 hours, according to US Vice President JD Vance. Vance said the United States had shown flexibility and presented Iran with a "final proposal," but Iran did not accept US terms. Earlier reports said the talks were aimed at stabilizing a fragile ceasefire and addressing disputes over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's nuclear program and wider regional tensions. Trump later said it made "no difference" to him whether a deal was reached.
