Ruili City in southwest China's Yunnan Province came alive as 20,000 tourists and locals gathered for the Water-Splashing Festival. Armed with basins, water bags and water guns, revelers drenched each other in a vibrant ritual wishing for happiness and prosperity. Celebrated by the Dai and De'ang people in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, the annual event has boosted tourism and local revenue.
