Kyle Fogg tied his season high with 36 points, leading the shorthanded Shanghai Sharks to an 88-83 victory over the Beijing Ducks in the Chinese capital on Sunday to clinch first place in the regular season, as well as the top seed in the upcoming CBA Playoffs.

Fogg set the tone for Shanghai from the outset, drilling a well-timed three-pointer off a pass from Brandon Goodwin to give the visitors an early three-point lead. With big men Hassan Whiteside and Kenneth Lofton sidelined, Fogg stepped up as the cornerstone on offense for the Sharks, sinking four triples in a blistering first quarter.

Beijing tried to battle back with captain Zhai Xiaochuan dishing to JaVale McGee, who powered past a pair of defenders for an inside bucket in the second period, but the Ducks remained six points behind. Wang Zhelin's mid-range jumper then pushed Shanghai's lead into double digits, before Goodwin added a trey to maintain the visiting side's momentum, sending the Sharks into halftime with a commanding 52-36 advantage.

After the break, Fogg kept up his exceptional form, nailing another three, one of nine on the evening, before Beijing began to apply pressure in the fourth quarter. Zhai cut the deficit to seven with a slick fadeaway jumper for the Ducks, but Fogg was undeterred, responding with another triple to reassert his dominance.

Wang finished with a huge double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds, contributing significantly to Shanghai's triumph. The Sharks went on to win by five points, extending their remarkable winning streak to 19 games, while also cementing their position atop the league standings with just four games remaining in the regular season.
