China, on Monday, announced a 19-player roster for a national training camp ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup and this year's Asian Games, with overseas-based centers Li Yueru and Han Xu headlining the squad.

Li has accepted a qualifying offer from WNBA side Dallas Wings, while Han, who played for the Perth Lynx in Australia's Women's National Basketball League last season, is targeting a return to the WNBA.

Yang Shuyu, Wang Siyu, Luo Xinyu and Zhang Ziyu are also among the selections after helping China secure qualification for the World Cup in last month's qualifiers.

The Women's World Cup will be held in Berlin from September 4 to 13, followed closely by the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.

"With the two major events close together, we are facing significant challenges," head coach Gong Luming said. He added that the roster was selected with both tournaments in mind, as well as long-term preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Gong noted that the squad features a mix of overseas-based players and college athletes during what he described as a key period of generational transition.

The team will train in Beijing starting from April, including playing a series of international friendlies, before heading to Australia and Europe for further warm-up games.
