China's first self-developed subsea cable inspection robot has been put into operation. It integrates sonar, electromagnetic detection and mechanical manipulation. Cooperating with unmanned vessels, its efficiency is 10 times that of traditional manual inspection. It detects buried cables, identifies faults and inspects with high precision like an underwater CT. With eight thrusters and lighting, it travels 5-7 kilometers per hour, acting as an underwater scout.
