Chris Bowen: Fuel crisis underlines need for electrification and renewable energy

Australia's Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen said in a recent interview that the current global fuel crisis underlines the need to push forward with electrification. He pointed out that there is not a single country in the world saying this crisis reminds us we need more fossil fuels. On the contrary, countries have realized that renewable energy will be an important part of the energy mix going forward. He added that no sanctions can be applied to the wind, and sunlight does not need to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Against the backdrop of uncertain global supply chains, he stressed that expanding renewable energy while reducing emissions is a way to strengthen national energy resilience and sovereignty. #GoodPoint
