US conservative commentator Tucker Carlson recently said on his show that the United States went to war in Iran to effect regime change. Israel has been making that demand on the US government for decades, and President Trump fell for it. Carlson said Trump realized almost immediately it was a mistake, adding that "once you're in a war like that, it's very hard to get out." He also stressed that international conflict should not be directed at a whole civilization or religion. "Declaring war on any civilization is not something we should ever do. That's just immoral," he noted.
