Synopsis:

You Found Me or L’Âme idéale centers on Elsa, a 40-year-old palliative care doctor who has long distanced herself from love and from others because of a secret she can no longer ignore: she can see and speak to the dead. After her confession drives her husband away, Elsa suppresses her gift, choosing isolation over disbelief. Everything shifts when she meets Oscar, a witty and charming man who rekindles her sense of connection and possibility. As their relationship deepens, Elsa begins to rediscover hope, intimacy and the courage to feel again. But their love story carries an unsettling ambiguity – one that blurs the line between reality and the beyond, forcing Elsa to confront not only her gift, but also the fragile boundaries between life, death and emotional truth.

Why we recommend it:

Blending magical realism with humor, You Found Me transforms its supernatural premise into a deeply human story about loneliness, vulnerability, and the longing to connect. Lifted by the gentle chemistry of its leads and a soft, poetic tone, the film balances lighthearted moments with an intimate, unconventional romance that feels both fragile and grounded. It captures how love can arrive unexpectedly, unfold with difficult truths, and even carry a touch of pain – yet still offer warmth, meaning, and a reason to hold on.
