China international trade representative with the Ministry of Commerce and vice minister of commerce Li Chenggang met with chief policy officer and general counsel of Ford Motor Company Steven Croley on Wednesday in Beijing.
The two sides exchanged views on China-US economic and trade relations and Ford's development in China.
Since last year, under the strategic guidance of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, China and the US have held six rounds of economic and trade consultations and achieved a series of outcomes, injecting greater certainty and stability into bilateral economic and trade relations and the world economy, Li said.
Noting that the China-US automobile industries are highly complementary with broad space for cooperation, Li expressed hope that Ford will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese enterprises, and provide more competitive products for both the Chinese and global markets.
Croley said that Ford has operated in China for many years and attaches great importance to the Chinese market as well as industrial and supply chains, and is willing to explore new business opportunities with partners while hoping for the stable development of China-US economic and trade relations.
