General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan warmly bid farewell to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Vietnamese President To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly in Beijing on Wednesday.
Xi said that he had a long and in-depth exchange of views with To Lam on overarching and strategic issues of common concern, reaching many new and important consensuses.
Noting that both China and Vietnam are socialist countries, Xi said the two sides should continue to move forward firmly along the path defined by this system and work together to build a community with a shared future that carries the socialist cause.
China stands ready to work with Vietnam to steer the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future onto a fast track of high-quality development, Xi said.
