French lawmakers in the National Assembly on Monday passed a bill to simplify the return of artworks and other prized artefacts looted during the country's colonial era.
The National Assembly passed the legislation on Monday. The Senate had already approved it in January. It focuses on items taken between 1815 and 1972, before UNESCO's cultural heritage convention came into force. The decision comes as calls for restitution grow.
