China is set to mark its annual Space Day on April 24 with a landmark public display of lunar samples from both sides of the moon, and has named Brazil as the guest of honor to highlight deepening bilateral cooperation.

At a press briefing in Beijing on Friday, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said this year's Space Day will spotlight the latest breakthroughs in deep-space exploration, along with new scientific findings from the study of China's lunar samples.

A major highlight of the science outreach exhibition will be the joint public display of lunar soil collected by the Chang'e-5 mission from the moon's near side and the Chang'e-6 mission from the far side, marking a rare opportunity to view both together. The exhibition will also feature interactive experiences, including a large-scale space-themed VR program that blends science education with immersive storytelling.

Liu Yunfeng, deputy director-general of the Systems Engineering Department at CNSA, announced that a series of major updates will be released, including new developments in China's deep-space exploration and commercial space industry. Findings from studies of Chang'e-5 lunar samples will also be revealed.

This year, Brazil has been invited as the guest of honor, highlighting a stronger international dimension. CNSA said China and Brazil will continue to deepen cooperation, including pushing forward the development of the CBERS-06 earth resources satellite as scheduled, while advancing technical planning and feasibility studies for CBERS-05.

Beyond the main venue in Chengdu, Space Day activities will be held across the country, featuring science exhibitions, cultural and arts forums, and outreach programs that bring aerospace experts directly into schools.
