The Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee recently made public a package of 10 policies and measures to promote cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, including "facilitating the import of Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products that meet inspection and quarantine standards."

Dongshan Port is one of the most important ports on the Chinese mainland for entry of live fish from Taiwan. Port authorities have set up a green channel for agricultural and fishery products from the Taiwan region, ensuring fast customs clearance and landing of live fish. The time from cargo arrival at the port to release has been reduced from at least six hours to within two hours.
