Beijing International Film Festival meets the winds of Siberia

From Tuva in Russia, Tyva Kyzy – the world's only all-female throat singing group – brings an ancient sound to a modern stage.

Led by Choduraa Tumat, the first woman honored as the "People's Khoomei Musician of Tuva," they broke centuries of tradition to redefine what khoomei, or throat singing, can be.

When CGTN's Ali showed Tumat the legendary bamboo forest scene from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," a Beijing International Film Festival favorite, the result was pure magic.
