The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired multiple ballistic missiles towards the sea off its east coast, the Republic of Korea (ROK) said on Sunday.
The missiles were fired near the city of Sinpo on the DPRK's east coast at around 6:10 a.m., the ROK's Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement.
The presidential office convened an emergency National Security Council meeting to review the security situation and discuss response measures, Yonhap reported.
On April 8, the DPRK fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles towards the east coast in a pair of launches, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
There has been no immediate comment from Pyongyang.
