A magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck off the eastern coast of Honshu, Japan, on Monday at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the quake struck off the northeastern coast around 4:53 p.m. local time, warning of a tsunami as high as 3 meters in Iwate, Aomori and Hokkaido prefectures.
