China on Monday dispatched a Y-20B large transport aircraft to the Republic of Korea (ROK) to repatriate the 13th batch of remains of Chinese soldiers who died during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).
This is the first time the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force has dispatched a Y-20B for the repatriation.
China sent 2.9 million Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) soldiers to assist the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the battlefield, of whom more than 360,000 were killed or injured.
The air force will also send four J-20 fighter jets to escort the Y-20B after it re-enters China's airspace.
