China launched its first 10,000-tonne new energy cargo ship on the lower Jinsha River on April 20. Measuring 110 meters in length, 18.8 meters in width and 8.5 meters in depth, it has a designed cargo capacity of 12,000 tonnes. A pure methanol-powered vessel reduces fuel costs by 20% and cuts pollutants, safeguarding the Jinsha River's ecology. It also boasts a large load capacity, high navigation efficiency and low operating costs, making it well-suited to meet the Jinsha River's shipping demands.
