Live: The 13th batch of Chinese martyrs' remains returned from ROK

The remains of 12 Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) martyrs who lost their lives during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953) are being returned to China from the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Wednesday, according to China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs. A Chinese Air Force Y-20B large transport aircraft carries the fallen heroes to Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province and home to the CPV martyrs' cemetery, marking its first deployment for repatriation duties, with the aircraft to be escorted by four J-20 fighter jets upon re-entering Chinese airspace.

This is the 13th such repatriation since the two countries signed an agreement on the handover of remains. Since 2014, the remains of 1,011 soldiers have been returned to China from the ROK, the ministry said. Join CGTN live for more details.
