Chengdu Rongcheng comeback to pick up fourth-straight CSL win

Sports Scene

Two goals in the second half against Yunnan Yukun gave hosts Chengdu Rongcheng a 2-1 win, a two point lead at the top and a fourth-straight win in the Chinese Super League.

Yukun had the best first chance when Ye Chugui stings the gloves of Liu Dianzuo in the 14th minute. The hosts then had the ball in the net four minutes later but Behram Abduweli was clearly offside and the goal was rightfully ruled out.

The visitors went into the break leading 1-0 thanks to a fantastic piece of football that ended with Yang Zihao's low cross finding Cleber to tap in. It was 1-1 eight minutes after the re-start as Romulo's ball into the box was somehow looped into the net by the head of Egor Sorokin, with goalkeeper Bao Yaxiong mis-timing his dive.

In the 54th minute, Oscar Maritu thought he had put his side back in front but it was ruled out because of an earlier handball from Caio Vinicius in the build up. The winner then arrived in the 61st minute. Washington Silva got the easiest of finishes and the game ended 2-1 as Chengdu continue to lead the way after 12 games.

Elsewhere, Beijing Guoan picked up their first win in six after beating Shenzhen 1-0 on the road, thanks to their veteran playmaker Zhang Xizhe, who popped up with a goal worthy of winning any game in the last minute.
