Japanese people protest against amendment of arms export rules

On Tuesday, the Japanese government officially revised "the three principles on transfer of defense equipment and technology" and their implementation guidelines to allow overseas sales of weapons, including those with lethal capabilities.

Japanese people took to the streets to protest, voicing their opposition to Sanae Takaichi's government for lifting the ban on weapons exports, accusing it of trampling on the country's pacifist constitution.

Article 9 of the Constitution states that the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nation and the threat or use of force as means of settling international disputes.
